Double bubble insulation consists of two layers of polyethylene bubbles sandwiched between reflective foil layers (typically aluminum). The bubbles create air pockets that resist heat transfer, while the foil reflects radiant heat, providing dual thermal resistance. This design enhances insulation performance compared to single-layer alternatives.
How Does Double Bubble Insulation Work
Reflective Surface – The aluminum foil reflects up to 97% of radiant heat, helping to maintain temperature.
Air Bubble Core – The bubble layer provides additional insulation by trapping air, reducing heat transfer via convection.
Vapor Barrier – Many double bubble products also block moisture, preventing condensation and mold growth.
